Thrive

Thrive Peninsula is a TLC partner that ministers to the many needs of our neighbors. When you go to the grocery store, please get something extra to donate to Thrive. All canned goods as well as personal care items can be left in the basket in the TLC narthex and we will ensure they are delivered to Thrive. Thrive asks that we not donate clothing items. If you have those items, you can donate them to the TLC Youth Group yard sale.

For all our gardeners out there… if you have an overabundance of fresh produce from your gardens and you want to donate to Thrive, please drop off the produce in the cooler located in the TLC narthex. We will run the produce
up to Thrive for you, along with the produce we are growing here at Trinity.

garden

Trinity’s Thrive Garden was created in 2020 as an Eagle Scout project by TLC youth member Nathan Rummel. With the help of Scout Troop 6 of Newport News VA, Nathan turned a section of the fenced play yard into a community garden. Church members plant, tend, harvest and deliver more than 900 pounds of fresh produce per year to the Thrive Peninsula Food Market to help feed our hungry community members in need.

Red food box

The Red Food Box needs you! TLC’s Red Food Box is like a Little Library but offers food items instead of books. There is a Red Food Box right outside of our sanctuary doors that offers non-perishable items to our local unhoused neighbors. Here is a list of some of the items that can be purchased: disposable water bottles, canned goods with pull tabs (items that do not need to be refrigerated or heated), tuna packs, granola bars, crackers, anything else that would be nutritious and non-perishable.

Please bring in an item or two to feed our hungry community! As the weather warms up, please be sure to purchase items for the box that are completely sealed and are not sticky like juice and fruit containers, so that they do not draw critters to the box. Thanks to all who have brought in items so far.

Little Free Library

TLC runs a Little Free Library on River Road just between the parking lot and the school playground. This public service stocks children’s books for our community who can “leave a book, take a book” any time they want. We are always taking book donations to keep the Little Free Library stocked!
