Kathy Stevens has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church all her life. She attended Sunday School, First Communion, and Confirmation classes at Trinity. As a young person, she was an active member of the Acolyte Corps and Youth Group and also served in the children’s choir. As an adult, she has held many roles within the church, including nursery volunteer, Sunday School teacher, youth advisor, and lector. She is co-coordinator of the semi-annual youth rummage sale and serves an as-needed role with the youth. She is currently a member of several church committees: Reconciling in Christ, Reception, Witness, Christian Education (chair), Scholarship, Worship and Music (chair), and the temporary Dream Team committee. Kathy serves the church as current Council Secretary. She is honored to hold positions which help our family in Christ all around us.
Kathy is a graduate of the College of William and Mary with a BA in English with a concentration in Education. She has an MS in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University and was a teacher for ten years prior to the birth of her oldest daughter. She has worked with preschool children and substitutes for the administrative assistant as needed in the church office. She enjoys participating in church activities outside of worship as well as within. Kathy enjoys crafts of all kinds: reading, writing, scrapbooking, card making, sewing, and crocheting.
Trinity is a second home and family to Kathy and, on Sunday mornings, she can usually be found in a pew with her mom and daughters, ages 12 and 15. She has been married to her husband Bill for over seventeen years.
